The 30th annual Lower Hay Lake fireworks will be held at dusk Saturday, July 19.

Lower Hay Lake is on the west end of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes. Dean Kuhn and Zambelli Fireworks puts on the display, which is sponsored each year by the nonprofit Friends of Lower Hay Lake Association.

The only way this event continues each year is because of generous donations by the association and by visitors coming to the lake to see the show and making generous donations at the channel as they enter the lake.

If enough donations are not received this year, next year's show will be in jeopardy.

Many fireworks this year will be lower in the sky, so the best viewing will be from the south side of the lake.

Miss Lower Hay Lake 2014 will help collect donations at the channel this year.
