Multiple fire departments are on scene now at the Kimber Creek Ford dealership in Pine River.

The police scanner reported about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, that a building was engulfed in flames with black smoke throughout. Just before 8 p.m. a page was sent out to the Crosslake Fire Department for its ladder truck. The Pine River Department was already responding with mutual aid requested from the Ideal fire department.

About five fire departments were reported on scene by 8 p.m. About 20 minutes later, based on scanner information, the fire was reported to be out with rotating fire crews going inside to check on hot spots. Crews were ventilating the building and reporting there were lots of hot spots.

Fire crews were battling the heat inside and outside with the air temperature still at 84 degrees at 8:45 p.m.

The auto dealership is along Highway 371. Initial reports included a witness reporting hearing an explosion.
