During their January meeting, the Fifty Lakes City Council approved a number of appointments for the city in the coming year, according to draft meeting minutes.
Council member Greg Buchite was named acting mayor, as well as the weed inspector and head of the roads and maintenance department. Steve O'Bryan was named head of the liquor department, Jay Weinmann - who was absent from the meeting - was named the planning and zoning department head and Jodie Schrupp will head the parks and public safety department.
Mayor Tim Anick will take charge of purchasing and personnel, and Richard Schiller was named emergency services manager.
BlackRidge Bank, Lakes State Bank, Frandsen Bank and Pine River State Bank were all named official depositories, and the Northland Press was named the city's legal newspaper for publications.
In other action, the council unanimously voted to change the date of the city's planning and zoning meeting from the first Tuesday of every month to the fourth Tuesday.

Schrupp requested the council to consider cost-of-living adjustments to city salaries. After some discussion, Anick said he would like to review before the council makes a decision.
