In their March meeting, Fifty Lakes City Council members unanimously agreed to participate with the city of Emily for City Clean Up Day in September, with expenses not to exceed $1,500, according to draft city council meeting minutes.
They also agreed to hire Tammy Rue as a part-time bartender at the municipal liquor store.
A request from the city auditor indicated a concern over the liquor store not showing its portion of the expenses related to the cost of its building, and suggested a payable be added on the store's statements going to the city. In 2014, there was a payment for rent of $9,000 that was not paid in 2015.
In hopes to remain consistent, the auditor suggested that amount be shown as payable to the city.
After a request from council member Greg Buchite, the council agreed to allow a preliminary budget of $25,000 to begin research on park playground equipment.
