Explosion destroys home in Chokio

MORRIS, Minn. -- A Saturday morning home explosion in Chokio, Minn., did not injure anyone but kept emergency responders from across Stevens County busy.

MORRIS, Minn. -- A Saturday morning home explosion in Chokio, Minn., did not injure anyone but kept emergency responders from across Stevens County busy.
At approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, the Stevens County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a house explosion in Chokio. At that time, the house was fully engulfed in flames.
The Chokio Fire Department and Morris Fire Department were able to keep the fire contained until it burned out.
The Stevens County Sheriff's Office reported that no one was home at the time of the incident. The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
Also assisting at the scene were the Morris Police Department and Minnesota State Patrol.
