Four Pillager High School students were nominated for statewide awards through the Minnesota State High School League.
Juniors Tatum Scull and Quintin Laveau were nominated for the ExCEL — Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership — Award, which recognizes high school juniors who are active in fine arts and/or athletics, show leadership qualities and are model citizens in their communities.
Scull is the daughter of Ken and Karen Scull and participates in volleyball, track, National Honors Society, Knowledge Bowl, student advising committee and the homecoming committee.
Laveau is the son of Tony and Joanie Laveau and participates in football, basketball, track and Knowledge Bowl.
Seniors Sadie Hopman and Paul Freelove were nominated for the AAA — Academics, Arts and Athletics — Award, which recognizes seniors who are active in fine arts and athletics, show leadership qualities, are model citizens in their communities and excel with their academics.
Hopman is the daughter of Shawn and Amy Hopman and participates in volleyball, basketball, band, track, National Honors Society, student council and high school music.
Freelove is the son of Rob and Anne Freelove and participates in band, track, football, choir, National Honor Society, jazz band, chamber choir, one act play, speech and high school musical.
