  • Social Dance Lessons for ages 16 and up: 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 7-Feb. 25, Pequot Lakes High School cafeteria. Fee: $35 per person.

Instructors Grace Belfanz and Ben Starns will instruct students on social dance. This class is for all who want to learn basic dance steps necessary to have fun on the dance floor. These dances can be used at weddings, date nights, a school dance or anywhere there is a dance floor.

Dances will include line dances, East Coast swing and the lindy hop swing. Come alone or with a partner. No experience is necessary.

  • Beginning Crochet: Mondays, Jan. 13 and 20, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church or 6-8:30 p.m. at Pequot Lakes High School. Fee: $5.

Students will learn the basics of crocheting, including: chain stitch, single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch, half double crochet stitch, treble crochet stitch, increasing, decreasing and reading a pattern. Students will pick from a dishcloth option or a scarf.

This is a two-day class offered in the daytime or evening.

  • Beginning Knitting: Thursdays, Jan. 16 and 23, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church or 6-8:30 p.m. at Pequot Lakes High School. Fee: $5.

Students will learn the basics of knitting, including: casting on, knit stitch, garter stitch, purl stitch, stockinette stitch, increasing, decreasing, binding off and reading a pattern. Students will have several project options, including dishcloths, garter stitch headband or garter stitch hat.

This is a two-day class offered in the daytime or evening.

  • Driver Discount Program 55+: Noon-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, Pequot Lakes Baptist Church. Fee: $22 per person.

A Minnesota Highway Safety Center trained instructor teaches this driver discount program. Class will explore changes in laws and the latest vehicle technology and will provide students with easy-to-use defensive driving tips.

  • Water Aerobics: 5-6:15 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, Jan. 6-April 2 (no class March 9 or 12), Breezy Point High Village pool. Fee: $63 for 14 sessions or $5 each.

This class is designed to improve muscle tone, flexibility, coordination and circulation through water-resistant exercise. Students should bring a pair of “wet bells,” a swimsuit and towel. Join any time. Instructor is Edie Heim.

  • Babysitting Training, ages 10 and up: 3:30-6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 13-14, Pequot Lakes High School Room K114. Fee: $45.

This interactive babysitting class will teach students the basics of babysitting, including: child care for all ages, basic first aid, the importance of TLC, what to do in an emergency and fun activities to do with children.

Students who attend both classes will receive a babysitter guide along with a certificate of completion. A snack will be provided and students are encouraged to bring a water bottle.

  • Perfect Snowman, grades K-4: 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, and Thursday, Jan 23, Eagle View Elementary School. Fee: $16.

Students at this two-day class will sip hot cocoa while building the perfect snowman out of papier-mache..

  • DIY Workshops by J’s Woodworking: Two classes offered Saturday, Jan. 11, at J’s Woodworking, 25468 Murray St., Nisswa.

Each workshop will give hands-on instruction to create, assemble, stain and finish a woodworking project. Basic hand and power tools will be used with instructor guidance. All supplies are provided through class fees.

Students who make extra projects will be responsible for extra material fees. No refunds are available if enrollment is cancelled less than one week prior to class.

  • Kids Sensory Table: 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Jan. 11; fee is $78.

  • Wine Rack: 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. Fee is $54.
