Soggy conditions dampened everything except spirits and work ethic as Pequot Lakes High School students traveled throughout the area Wednesday, May 8, to help those in need as part of the school's annual Day of Caring.

More than 600 students broke into small groups and worked at 135 different locations in Pequot Lakes, Breezy Point, Crosslake and more to clean, rake, shovel and do whatever was needed - from clearing leaves and debris at Pelican Woods Cemetery in Breezy Point to installing mulch at the playground behind Grace United Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes.

Feedback from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with several businesses taking to social media to thank the students for their help.
