Pequot Lakes Middle School speech team places high at tournaments
Ten contestants from the Pequot Lakes Middle School speech team placed in the top six in their category during a meet Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Placing were: Tabitha Kibwaa, sixth in creative; Jakob Sundstrom, second in discussion; Lola Eastwood, first in drama; Lily Blomer, first in extemporaneous reading; Mitchel Blaser, second in extemporaneous reading; Isaac Bittner, third in great speeches; Myra Neumann, second in informative; Odessa Huber, fourth in original oratory; Tommy Franz, fifth in original oratory; and Zoe Huber, sixth in poetry.
The last tournament in Walker on Tuesday, March 5, was a success with 16 placing in the top six.
Placing were: Kiley Newton, first in discussion; Blomer, first in extemporaneous reading; Eastwood, first in dramatic interpretation; Neumann, first in informative; Sundstrom, second in discussion; Kibwaa, second in extemporaneous speaking; Blaser, third in extemporaneous reading; Ashley Wallin and Emma Hines, fourth in duo; Odessa Huber, fourth in original oratory; Bittner, fourth in great speeches; Tegan Johnson, fifth in dramatic interpretation; Zoe Huber, fifth in poetry; Grace Jordan, sixth in prose; Tommy Franz, sixth in original oratory; and Juliana Haman, sixth in dramatic interpretation.
