East Gull Lake: Council approves variance recommendations

The East Gull Lake City Council approved recommendations from the city planning commission for a variance on the Deanovic property, according to draft council minutes from the July 7 meeting.

The variance is for the demolition and replacement of a boat house. The variance was approved with conditions.

In other business, the council:

• Approved a resolution adding the city council and planning commission to the city's workers' compensation policy for $67 per year.

• Approved a contribution of $550 for 2016 to the Initiative Foundation.

• Tabled a resolution to participate in the national flood insurance program.

• Approved a gambling permit for the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association for a raffle at the Legacy at Cragun's on Sept. 11.

• Approved a speed study on county roads 70 and 77 following a petition from 16 residents.
