Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Crow Wing County is requesting that all tax payments be made by mail, online or by using the drop box installed outside the front doors of the Land Services building in Brainerd.

  • To make a payment online: Visit the Crow Wing County website at www.crowwing.us and click on “How DO I” in the top ribbon, then under “Pay” select “Property Tax."

Payments will be accepted via e-check and debit, or credit card. Taxpayers will need their 8-digit parcel identification number for each parcel paid. There is a 2.35% fee charged by the payment processor for all card payments, and $1.95 fee for all e-checks.

  • Paying by mail: Check or money order payments are accepted by mail. They can be sent to 322 Laurel St., Suite 15, Brainerd, MN 56401.

Tax payments sent by mail must be postmarked no later than Friday, May 15, to avoid late penalties. It is important for taxpayers to know that mail often is processed at a location some distance from where it is mailed, and postmarked at least one day later, unless it is hand stamped at a post office before mailing.
Taxpayers are advised to drop their payment in the mail at least three days before the May 15 deadline. Taxpayers are asked to note on their payment if they would like a receipt mailed to them and include their email address if they want their receipt emailed to them.

  • Drop box: Payments may be dropped in the locked drop box located outside the Land Services Building at 322 Laurel St., Brainerd.

Taxpayers are asked to note on their payment if they would like a receipt mailed to them and include their email address if they want their receipt emailed to them.

  • Paying delinquent taxes: The county asks taxpayers to call the office at 218-824-1010 before making any delinquent tax payments to ensure that they are paying the right amount and don’t incur further penalties and interest.

For more information about a property’s valuation and classification, or a 2020 tax statement, contact Land Services by calling 218-824-1010, emailing landservices@crowwing.us, or visiting www.crowwing.us.
