Crow Wing County Land Services Department announces selected forest trails on county-managed forest lands will be temporarily closed to motorized vehicles due to vulnerable trail surfaces caused by the spring thaw.
Forestry staff will periodically monitor trail conditions and when appropriate, the closures will be lifted.
"These temporary closures help us protect vulnerable forest trail surfaces and minimize maintenance costs," said Mark Liedl, land services director.
The locations of trail closures can be found on the county website at www.crowwing.us and search "trail closures." Closure signs will be installed at each trail to notify the public.
The county is asking all citizens to observe these trail closures during spring thaw to protect our natural resources. Contact the Crow Wing County Land Services Department at 218-824-1115 or landservices@crowwing.us with any questions.
