Crosslake School: Board chooses director candidate
Offer being prepared; board to meet Thursday, Nov. 21
After interviewing four candidates for the Crosslake Community School director position, the school board unanimously agreed to move forward with a final candidate.
The board is doing its due diligence to check references and prepare an offer for the chosen candidate, board chair Lori Scharenbroich said in an email, noting the board hopes to have a public decision later this week.
In anticipation of that, the board planned to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Crosslake Community School. Check for further updates at www.pineandlakes.com.
The board interviewed four candidates Nov. 7 and 8, and then narrowed the selection to the following three candidates, listed alphabetically: Jill Arendt, director of student life at Crosslake School; Annette Klang, a grades 1-2 teacher at Crosslake School; and Cliff Skaagen, director of teaching and learning/principal at Twin Cities Academy, a public charter school for grades 6-12 in St. Paul.
Current Director Todd Lyscio announced in August he plans to retire at the end of the year. The position was posted for approximately six weeks and the board received 10 qualified applicants. From that pool of candidates a board sub-committee, working with an education search consultant, identified six applicants for full board consideration.
