Crosslake-Fifty Lakes Legion Auxiliary awards scholarships

Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Auxiliary members Pamela Vaughan and Deanna Dubel awarded $500 scholarships to two Pine River-Backus graduates, Hannah Weidewitsch and Brandi McAlister, on May 24.

Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Auxiliary members Pamela Vaughan and Deanna Dubel awarded $500 scholarships to two Pine River-Backus graduates, Hannah Weidewitsch and Brandi McAlister, on May 24.

The Auxiliary and Legion also awarded $500 scholarships to six other graduates from Crosby-Ironton, Pequot Lakes and Wayzata in May.

The students who meet minimum academic standards will receive these funds after first semester 2017-18. The Auxiliary and Legion raised funds for these scholarships through raffles, bake sales and gambling (bingo/pull tabs).
