Crosslake Art Club Show slated Aug. 6-8

The 31st Crosslake Art Club Show will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Aug. 6-8.

The club welcomes area visitors and residents to the Crosslake Community Center.

Admission to this traditional summer event is free. Door prizes and refreshments are included.

Paintings, prints and pottery will demonstrate the creativity of over 50 local club members. A gift shop offers cards, bookmarks, prints, pottery and jewelry.

Each day artists will share their techniques, including silk scarf dying, watercolor, collage and pottery, at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. daily. All proceeds go directly to the artists and the club.

A percentage of sales funds the Jim Stevenson Memorial Scholarship that recognizes the talents of a Pequot Lakes senior planning to pursue a career in art. Stevenson was a longtime club member and artist who contributed greatly to the Crosslake area.

To help boost the scholarship funds available to distribute, small original paintings can be selected for a $10 donation.

The Crosslake Community Center is located north of Crosslake on Daggett Pine Road, just off Highway 66.
