A 19-year-old Pequot Lakes man is a suspect in an FBI investigation of internet-related crimes against children.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office assisted the FBI Tuesday, July 7, with the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 3000 block of Wildlife Trail in the city of Pequot Lakes.

Four adult individuals were residing in the house at the time the search warrant was executed. All four people were interviewed and a 19-year-old man was determined to be the likely sole suspect of the internet crimes, the sheriff’s office reported. Numerous items of evidence were seized and will be further processed by the FBI. Also assisting with the search warrant was the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office reported this case is being investigated by the FBI and had no further information on the crime.

“Due to the nature of the ongoing investigation all I can confirm is that the FBI was there today (in Crow Wing County) conducting a court authorized law enforcement activity,” a spokesperson with the FBI in Minneapolis stated in an email, when asked for more detailed information.
