CASS LAKE, Minn. — The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department is searching for a 21-year-old man who is considered armed and dangerous.
Andrew Edwin Matsen, 21, is 6 feet tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has green eyes, dark hair, and may be wearing dark-rimmed glasses. The tribal police department asks that anyone who sees Matsen call (218) 335-6315 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The department said the public should not approach Matsen, who is considered "armed and dangerous."
On Monday, Aug. 12, multiple agencies, including the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Minnesota State Patrol, were going to arrest Matsen regarding an “ongoing controlled substance sales investigation in Cass Lake," according to a post from the tribal police on Facebook.
Matsen, however, fled, and a brief vehicle pursuit ensued. Some time thereafter, Matsen got out of his car and fled on foot, causing the authorities to follow as well. Authorities believe Matsen may have discharged a firearm during the pursuit, the post said.
