WILLMAR, Minn. —A 68-year-old woman from Backus was the victim in the accidental shooting at a Super 8 motel in Willmar Saturday night.
The woman was shot in the leg July 13 after a bullet came through the wall of her motel room. She was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the Willmar Police Department said in a press release.
A 34-year-old man of Sheldon, Iowa, who the police department said was the shooter, has been cooperating with the investigation and is facing charges from the incident.
The police department, along with Willmar Ambulance, was called at around 10:05 p.m. Saturday to the motel located at the 2600 block of First Street South, for a report of a female with a gunshot wound.
