The seventh annual Chokecherry Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes.
The seventh annual race to celebrate the life of Dru Sjodin, The Purple Elephant Run/Walk, whose purpose is create awareness of violence against women and children while promoting your own health, will be at 8 a.m.
The Chokecherry Culinary Contest will start at 10 a.m. The only rule is that chokecherries must be included in the recipe. Participants may enter more than one category and all entries must be received by 10 a.m.
The kid's arcade area will be on the north side of Trailside Park featuring a variety of reasonably priced kid's games, including Plinko, bean bag goss, tugboats, fish pond, and more with prizes.
An all-day Arts Festival will feature a variety of artisans. Food vendors will be available.

Family activities include the back seat driver game and pit-spitting contest.
Live from the Attic will play oldies and rock in the bandstand from 7-9 p.m.
