Crosslake Community School welcomed visitors Mike North and Andrew Herberg of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, as well as Michael Blassey of the Bay-Nay-She Bird Council to teach students about birds and bird banding.

Mist nests were put up near the school’s bird feeders to catch resident birds of the school forest. Students were able to see birds such as black-capped chickadees and white-breasted nuthatches up close and personal.
