Next to the Nisswa Community Children's Library sits a vacant 40- x 60-foot area of deteriorating lawn, bushes and diseased trees. The Nisswa School PTO's vision is to create an outdoor learning and reflection area. Not only would this space be used by students and staff throughout the school year, but also during the heavily visited summer library program and by families all year long.
The educational benefit of a peaceful, well-planned outdoor space is the center of the PTO's cause and something the Nisswa PTO and staff are passionate about. They have been working with a local landscaper to develop a design that includes many educational features that will benefit young learners. The Nisswa PTO is funding this transformation with a Buy-A-Brick campaign. This campaign allows families and businesses from the Nisswa Elementary School community to purchase an engraved concrete paver that will be used to build the walkway through this space. Visit www.nisswapto.com/courtyard to get complete information, including a diagram of the planned space. Order a brick online or download an order form and return it to the school.Next to the Nisswa Community Children's Library sits a vacant 40- x 60-foot area of deteriorating lawn, bushes and diseased trees.
