Butterfly release slated July 19 in Breezy Point

The 10th annual Monarch Butterfly Release will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail in Breezy Point.

Butterflies are available for purchase for $10 each at Breezy Point City Hall. Call 218-562-4441. Details and butterfly order forms are at www.cityofbreezypointmn.us

Features speaker will be Coralee Fox, University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener and Brainerd Chapter Wild Ones.

Bring a lawn chair and camera for pictures of the real butterflies and the "larger than life" model butterfly.

The event will be held rain or shine. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail includes gardens originally designed by University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners, Crow Wing County. Ongoing maintenance and expansion of the gardens includes many community volunteers as well as Master Gardeners.

Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail is located one-half mile north of the intersection of County Roads 11 and 4 in Breezy Point, then one block west on Ski Chalet Drive.
