Backus Sons of the American Legion Commander Jim Bartholomay and SAL Treasurer John Wieber presented a $2,000 check to Mary Sigan, Pine River-Backus High School counselor, for scholarships for the class of 2021.

Travis Grimler began work at the Echo Journal Jan. 2 of 2013 while the publication was still split in two as the Pine River Journal and Lake Country Echo.
