The 19th annual Backus Fly-In Pancake Breakfast will be from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 27, at the Backus Airport, just west of Highway 371.

The breakfast, a benefit for the Backus Fire Department and first responders, will cost $6 at the door ($5 in advance) and $3 for children under 12. Fly-in pilots will eat for free. Sausage, juice, coffee and milk will be available.

A North Memorial Medivac helicopter is scheduled to land at 11 a.m., schedule permitting. A demonstration will be given with jaws-of-life rescue apparatus on an old car, weather permitting. The Backus Lions Club will provide free diabetes screenings.

Watch airplanes land and take off, talk to pilots, firefighters and first responders, and see a fire truck up close. Raffle tickets will be sold with a drawing at noon. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

Advance tickets will be available from Backus Lions members at the Polish Stand at Godfrey's on Saturdays or from Backus firefighters and first responders.
