Sue Haven, vice president of the Backus Lions Club, presented $500 scholarships each to Pine River-Backus High School graduates Journee Howard, left, Callie Tilbury, Joshua Schuck and Cody Wiese. The Backus Lions host several events throughout the year to benefit the club's philanthropic activities, including high school scholarships, food shelves, Christmas for Kids, Relay for Life, service dog organizations, the local elementary school and nursing homes.
