Backus American Legion awards scholarships

Twelve Pine River-Backus High School seniors received $500 scholarships totaling $6,000 from the Backus American Legion's Charitable Gaming

Partnership: Dale Ford, Mikayla Hudak, Shannon Osier, Taylor Sawyer, Jessica Hanneken, Madison Welte, T.J. Lukanen, Austin Orth, Tasha Worcester, Megan Felthous, Austin Smith and Henry Krecklau.

Osier, a Girls State representative, also received a $100 scholarship from the Backus Legion Auxiliary.

The Backus Charitable Gaming Partnership includes the Legion post and Willard's Saloon and Eatery.
