STAPLES -- A driver was ejected from his vehicle after it rolled over Wednesday, Sept. 4, north of Staples.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was called at 4:10 p.m. to a one vehicle rollover on Wadena County Highway 30, north of Staples in Thomastown Township. Arriving deputies found a Jeep Wrangler lying on its passenger side in the south ditch. The Staples Police Department along with a member of the Staples Fire Department were on scene treating the male driver.

Law enforcement learned the driver was traveling north on Wadena County Highway 30 when he swerved to avoid hitting a loose dog, causing the vehicle to cross into the southbound lane

and into the ditch where the unbelted driver was ejected.

The driver was treated on scene by Lakewood EMS and transported to Lakewood Hospital where he was met by North Memorial Air Care.
