NISSWA-A 71-year-old Pillager man was injured Tuesday, May 28, when he lost control of the Chevrolet Malibu he was driving north on Highway 371 at Tall Timbers Road in Nisswa.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at 9:50 p.m. The driver, Gerald Mihalic, was making a lane change on Highway 371 when the Malibu went out of control. The Malibu went through the median and into the southbound traffic lane, where it was struck by a southbound Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Mark W. Gray, 67, Brainerd.

Mihalic was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gray and two of his passengers-Eric T. Gangl, 42 and Landon T. Gangl, 11, both of Brainerd-were not injured.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office and Nisswa fire and police departments assisted the state patrol at the scene.
