After being postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miss Pine River Scholarship Pageant will be held Saturday, June 20, at the Assembly of God Church with only immediate families attending by personal invite to meet social distancing guidelines.

The seven contestants will be judged on interview, business casual wear, talent and evening gown. The theme is Celebrating “Herstory" in honor of women who made history by being the first female to do something, such as the first female marathon runner, airline pilot, judge, etc.

The candidates are:

  • Jordan Cunningham: 18-year-old senior at Pine River-Backus High School who just graduated. Her parents are Chris and Karla Cunningham. For her talent, she will play the trumpet.
  • Brianna Butricks: 17-year-old who just completed her junior year at Pine River-Backus High School. Her parents are Mindy and Trevor Butricks. For her talent, she will sing.
  • Madison Burnard: 18-year-old senior at Pine River-Backus High School who just graduated. Her parents are April and Trevis Vredenburg. For her talent, she will speed paint.
  • Jessie Boyles: 17-year-old who just completed her junior year at Pine River-Backus High School. Her parent is Susan Mortensen. For her talent, she will play guitar.
  • Rylee Norman: 17-year-old who just completed her junior year at Pine River-Backus High School. Her parents are Vince and Erica Norman and Gina Hagstrom. For her talent, she will perform a flute solo.
  • Aurora Melby: 17-year-old who just completed her junior year at Pine River-Backus High School. Her parent is Jessica Siltman. For her talent, she will give a speech.
  • Ceyara Brand: 17-year-old who just completed her junior year at Pine River-Backus High School. Her parents are Mike Brand and Molisa McCoy. For her talent, she will give a speech and slide show on welding.
