Camp Knutson seeks volunteers
A Camp Knutson volunteers meeting will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 30, at the camp for people to sign up to serve the camp in different capacities.
Volunteers are an essential part of Camp Knutson, which has served children with special needs for more than 65 years. Located on the shores of Trout and Lower Whitefish lakes in Crosslake, the Camp Knutson staff and volunteers serve campers throughout the summer.
The Camp Knutson volunteers, chaired by Kate Williams of Crosslake, not only organize volunteers, but also raise money for camperships and to enhance the camper experience. Volunteer opportunities are wide ranging, including working directly with the kids, helping to keep the physical grounds maintained and being involved with the fundraising events held to serve campers.
For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact Jared Griffin, Camp Knutson director, at 218-543-4232. Visit campkfriends.com to learn more, review opportunities and get involved.
The camp's Night Under the Stars fundraiser will be held Saturday, July 20, with the theme "Luau at the Lake."
