The Pequot Lakes School District is gearing up for students to return. Students grades 1-12 will begin the school year Tuesday, Sept. 3, while kindergartners will first report to class on Thursday, Sept. 5, with parent-student-teacher conferences scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 3 and 4.
New students can now register between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Parents must bring their child's birth certificate, immunization records and Social Security number, as well as provide a residential address. These can be brought to the main office of the school the child will attend.
New middle-schoolers should attend the "New to PLMS Family Event" from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.
An open house for early childhood programs will take place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, and from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in the Early Childhood Center at Eagle View Elementary School. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online or by calling 218-562-7520.
Eagle View Elementary School's open house for grades 1-4 will take place from 3:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. Parents of students entering kindergarten will receive a letter giving a 20-minute scheduled conference time with the classroom teacher on Sept. 3 or 4.
The fifth-grade open house and WEB orientation have been combined and will take place from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, with a parents' meeting beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Open house for grades 6-12 will be from 3:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, with ninth-grade orientation taking place in the auxiliary gym beginning at 1 p.m.
