Heart and Soul event Aug. 21 in Crosslake

CROSSLAKE—Heart and Soul 2018 will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Crosslake Lutheran Church, in Crosslake.

Featured speaker for this women-only event will be cardiologist Dr. Eric Fenstad. He will present, "Things that go Bump in the Night," a presentation on heart rhythms in women.

Fenstad is a graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He completed his residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. In 2015, Fenstad joined Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, which is part of Allina Health. He sees patients in Baxter, Crosby and Aitkin.

The other speaker for the evening will be Gail Smith, registered nurse, who will be speaking about, "Make the Hurt Go Away" regarding mind, body and spirit pain in women, both diagnosis and treatment. Gail works as the parish nurse at Crosslake Lutheran and also has positions as a nurse at Minneapolis Heart Institute and Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
