Crosslake's planned dog park is moving into the next phase - fundraising and construction.

The 1-acre dog park will be located on a portion of the 9-acre property the city of Crosslake recently acquired west of the community center. Clearing of underbrush and planning are in high gear.

The community dog park was one of the top-ranked projects residents identified during the community visioning sessions led by the Minnesota Design Team and the Crosslakers in the summer of 2016. Fundraising is underway now to cover the costs of fencing, gates, memorial benches and more.

Contributions from private/personal, businesses, clubs/organizations and in-kind are needed, as this is a community effort and not a city expense.

Donation boxes are located at Whitefish Golf Course, Crosslake Veterinary Hospital and the Crosslake Community Center, while more are being distributed. An anonymous donor has pledged to match, dollar for dollar, the first $5,000 contributed by private or personal donations. Donations designated for the dog park can be made out to PAL Foundation and sent to PAL in care of the Crosslake Community Center, 14126 Daggett Pine Road, Crosslake, MN 56442.
