The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Crosslake Recreation Area and Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association again sponsored the Crosslake WinterFest Water Safety Coloring Contest.

This year's coloring poster came from the Crosslake Community School sixth-grade art class. Students Amelia Davis, Colin Omtevet and Levi Loken submitted the winning artwork. Together, their drawings made this year's Water Safety Coloring Contest Poster.

Several coloring contest submissions came in and were sorted in four age groups: 5 and under, 6-9, 10-14, and 15-plus. The public voted at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office for its favorite entries during WinterFest.

Winners are Claire Nowacki, 3, Grand Forks, North Dakota; Hannah Berglund, 7, Pequot Lakes; Mackinzie Lewandowski, 11, Pine River; and Andrea Martin, 15-plus division, Crosslake.

Poster winners and the three art students all received a properly fitted personal floatation device provided by the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association and C&C Boat Works.
