3 Things for Better Health - April 22
Need to be motivated to start the week off on a healthy note? Just try one or more of three things to start the week off on the right path.
1. Try a seven-minute workout by doing each move for 30 seconds and allowing a 10-second interval break in between in order to maintain the intensity. Start with a wall sit, followed by push-ups, ab crunches (sit-ups), step-ups (use a stair to step up one step and then go back down), squats, tricep dips using a chair, plank, high knees, forward lunges, a side plank and then a push-up with a rotation to the side while maintaining form and lifting one arm into the air so the body is sideways and parallel to the floor.
2. Check out the new summer offerings with Brainerd Public Schools Community Education. Go to www.isd181.org for classes or call 218-454-6924. Classes include options for all ages and interests. From summer art or science, sports or skills classes to a pirate adventure for elementary age students or an opportunity to be part of a team to build a remote-controlled vehicle. Other options include free water safety for students. There are many options to be active this summer
3. Senior tennis and pickleball provides a way to be active throughout the summer as The Center offers tennis on Wednesday mornings and pickleball on Tuesday mornings at Gregory Park in Brainerd. Cost. $20. Call Jeanne Larson at 218-838-2552 for more information.
