A total of 238 people attended February online presentations via Zoom given by University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners.

195 people from Crow Wing County and many other Minnesota counties as well as Canada, Illinois and Wisconsin attended the February Zoom webinar, "The Cutting Garden and Language of Flowers," cosponsored by University of Minnesota Extension Crow Wing County Master Gardeners and the Brainerd Public Library.

Crow Wing County Master Gardeners have been co-hosting garden presentations with the Brainerd Public Library since April 2013. The presentations are held at noon so people can attend during the lunch hour. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the March and April 2020 presentations were canceled and resumed in June via Zoom for the remainder of the year.

They will continue to be held by Zoom until the University of Minnesota Extension allows in-person events.

The Master Gardener classes in cooperation with the Brainerd Public Library are given on the second Tuesday of each month. Future Zoom classes presented by master gardeners will be: "Trees: Choose Wisely and Plant Properly" on April 13; "Flower Gardening for Beginners" on May 11; and "Hostas" on June 8.

Master Gardeners also gave a Zoom presentation about "The Moon Garden" to 30 members of the Eagan Garden Club and another about "Lilies: Aristocrats of the Garden" to 13 members of the Brainerd Garden Club.

In addition to the monthly gardening class in cooperation with the Brainerd Public Library, Crow Wing County Master Gardeners Speakers Bureau gives presentations upon request to garden clubs and other organizations. The purpose of the presentations is to educate the public about research-based horticultural practices for the home gardener.

A list of presentation topics is available on the Crow Wing County Master Gardener website at crowwingmastergardeners.org. Normal scheduling requires a notice of two weeks. To request a gardening presentation, contact Brittany Goerges, Master Gardener volunteer coordinator, at goerg039@umn.edu.
