Two exhibitions are on display through Aug. 2 at the Franklin Arts Center's Resident Artists Gallery in Brainerd: "Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Pizza" and "Souvenirs, Steam Punk Inspired Artwork" by Chase Vreeland.
"Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Pizza" features a selection of artwork that celebrates America and our love for pizza. Artists submitted a variety of pieces in all mediums that depict their vision of the exhibition title.
Imagery and ideas range from American flags and eagles to money, power and flying pepperoni pizza.
In the front gallery space, Vreeland presents his solo exhibition, "Souvenirs, Steam Punk Inspired Artwork," a collection of steam punk inspired pieces that when viewed all together within the installation will take viewers on a journey to a whole other world.
Vreeland is a mixed media artist, who works back and forth between many different projects. In this exhibition he has used a variety of found materials to create a large selection of futuristic weapons, a times machine and other objects that tell a story of a man and his journey throughout time as he collects souvenirs from different time periods and does his best to survive along the way.
