The 18th annual Northwoods Art and Book Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in Hackensack.
The festival will include a variety of artists who work with fibers, paint, clay, metal, photographs and wood. Their booths will be inside the Hackensack Community Building and outside on Lake Avenue.
Authors, poets and illustrators will sell and sign their books throughout the day inside the United Church of Christ (UCC). Poetry submissions will be accepted through July 28.

A poetry reading is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at UCC. At that time the winners of the Works of Merit and ballot Popular Choice awards will be announced.

Food vendors will be available all day at the food court area. The children's creative area will feature canvas and face painting.
