The 26th annual Northwoods Art and Book Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, in Hackensack, featuring Minnesota authors.
The event will be held in the Hackensack Community Building, Union Congregational Church and along Lake Avenue, where people will find artists, authors, vendors, food, music, student art displays, children's art tent and WonderTrek Children's Museum, an interactive play station for ages 3-10.
More than 30 authors will sell and sign their books covering a variety of genres. New authors - Laura Ashwood (romance and women's fiction), Will Green (children's books), Helen Holder (children's books), Cassie Meyer (children's books), Jacob Moses (mystery thriller), JoAn Stevenson (children's books), Susan Stradiotto (epic fantasy), and Fox Pointe Publishing, LLP - are part of the lineup.
Two author presentations are planned. At 11 a.m., author, singer and songwriter Elisa Korenne, “Hundred Miles to Nowhere - An Unlikely Love Story," will be in the UCC Sanctuary. The title of her presentation is ”Finding Inspiration and Renewal Where We Are.” Korenne will have her guitar and share original songs as well as her writing experiences. She will be sell and sign her books.
At 1 p.m., author Julie Jo Larson, “100 Things To Do in the Minnesota Northwoods Before You Die," will be in the UCC Sanctuary. The title of her presentation is “Why Not? Writing A Travel Book During a Pandemic.” She will sell and sign her books.
