This summer's second Music in the Park event will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at the gazebo at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville.
Twin Cities jazz singer Rhonda Laurie and The Happy Days Trio will perform songs from The Great American Songbook in celebration of early to mid 20th century American life.
Laurie toured Minnesota libraries with her trio through a Minnesota Legacy Fund grant presenting the "Happy Days" program. Laurie and her instrumentalist partners revived the music of the '30s, '40s and '50s, and she shared the history of the times and stories behind the music.
Members of The Happy Days Trio are pianist Rick Carlson, violinist Gary Schulte and double bass player Steve Pikal, all of the Twin Cities area.
Admission is free, but freewill offerings are appreciated. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic food.
