The Lakes Area Music Festival will kick off its summer events with a prelude series that includes free concerts in Pequot Lakes, Crosslake and Nisswa.
A string quartet including Ashley Ng and Matthew Mindeman on violin, Maria Ritzenhaler on viola and festival director Scott Lykins on cello, as well as songs and opera arias by soprano Maire Clement, will be performed at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes.
Pianist Mary Jo Gothmann, baritone Rodolfo Nieto and Lykins, along with violinist Jeremy Rhizor who will participate in festival concerts in August, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Crosslake Lutheran Church, and at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.
