Due to the Labor Day holiday, the Crosslake Art Club's next business meeting will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Crosslake Community Center.

A mini-workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 12. Art club member Muffie Davidge will present "Time to 'play' for fall." Spend the morning creating cards to celebrate and share autumn thoughts and/or make Thanksgiving cards.

Members are asked to bring quarter-sheets of 140-pound watercolor paper (can be backside of old rejects) that will be used to create the basis for the cards. They should also bring fall watercolors and brushes to play with oranges, reds, yellows, browns and blacks.

The group will try stenciling leaves. Anyone with maple trees and oak trees in the yard should press some now for use in the class. Davidge will bring some to share as well, along with cardstock, ideas and stamps for messages. Anyone who has appropriate stamps should bring them.
