Crossing Arts creativity kits to be distributed Aug. 8

Crossing Arts Alliance will distribute creativity kits from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 8. Kits will be available on tables in front of Crossing Arts Alliance in downtown Brainerd.

These kits have two art projects, a coloring sheet and more. Creativity Kits are free to the public. Kits are limited to the first 200, first come, first served, courtesy of Crossing Arts supporters and sponsored by Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union and Lakes Printing.

In addition, there will be 100 Creativity Kits distributed through the Full Tummies program on the same day, put on by the Baxter Cafe and The Raboin & Francis Law Firm.

Nancy Vogt is editor of the Pineandlakes Echo Journal, a weekly newspaper that covers eight communities in the Pequot Lakes-Pine River areas - from Nisswa to Hackensack and Pequot Lakes to Crosslake.

She started as editor of the Lake Country Echo in July 2006, and continued in that role when the Lake Country Echo and the Pine River Journal combined in September 2013 to become the Pineandlakes Echo Journal. She worked for the Brainerd Dispatch from 1992-2006 in various roles.

She covers Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Lake Shore and Crosslake city councils, as well as writes feature stories, news stories and personal columns (Vogt's Notes). She also takes photos at community events.
