Cast, crew announced for 'Romeo and Juliet'

Dean Root and Olivia Notch play titular pair

The cast and crew have been announced for the Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts production of "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet," which will be staged Tuesday-Thursday, Aug. 3-5, and Saturday-Monday, Aug. 7-9, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.

Director is Karla Johnson, of Brainerd.

The cast includes: Stephanie White, Pequot Lakes, as Prince Escalus; Joshua Sweeney, Backus, as Paris/Sampson; Jesse Brutscher, Little Falls, as Montague; Kate Davis, Pequot Lakes, as Lady Montague; C.J. Anderson, Pequot Lakes, as Capulet/Apothecary; Lauren Nickisch, Pequot Lakes, as Lady Capulet; Dean Root, Brainerd, as Romeo; Olivia Notch as Juliet; Jayley Andresen, Brainerd, as Balthasar/Abram; Emily-Rose Severson, Brainerd, as Mercutio; Sam Dirks, Brainerd, as Benvolio; Travis Sawyer, Brainerd, as Tybalt; M.S. Bernard, Pine River, as Friar Laurence; Bob McColgan, Brainerd, as Nurse; Brayden Werk as Gregory; and Gillian Middagh, Brainerd, as Friar John/Servingman/Peter.

The crew includes: Maarjara Melander, Pequot Lakes, stage manager; Heather Pearson, Pequot Lakes, costume designer and builder; Tim Leagjeld, Pine River, set designer and builder; Ronnie Villa, Pequot Lakes, assistant set builder; Ben Gordon, Pequot Lakes, stage combat instructor; Libby Borash, Brainerd, Queens Almaine choreographer; Savaiya Nylund, Brainerd, poster designer; and Nancy Ryan, Pine River, technical director.
