The Cemetery Board of Our Savior's Lutheran Church wishes to make available to its members and the Christian community all lots in the Old Cemetery which are not used or not intended to be used for burials by their owners. Minnesota law provides the following procedure in this circumstance.
Whereas Minnesota Statutes 306-242 provides a procedure by which the Cemetery Board may regain title to lots 1-4 after 60 years of unused and where no evidence of intended future use is shown by original owner.
Therefore be it resolved that the heir of Mrs. Jack Peterson, the original owner of lots 1-4, Block 78, in the Old Cemetery at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, unused for more than 60 years, now express interest in the noted cemetery lots.
Be it further resolved that you have 60 days from the date of this publication to express an interest in retaining the cemetery lots and must have submitted satisfactory evidence of an intention to use the lots for future burials.
Be it known that if after 60 days of public notice of this resolution, the owner or person with a legal interest in the cemetery lots fails to state a valid interest in the use of the cemetery lots for burial purposed, the owner's rights are terminated and that part of the cemetery again belongs to the Cemetery Board of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
