SPECIAL MEETING
May 24, 2021
A special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District #186 was held in the MS/HS Auditorium on May 24, 2021. Chair Kim Bolz-Andolshek called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Clerk Tracy Wallin recorded the minutes.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Present: Directors Kim Bolz-Andolshek, Curt Johnson, Derrek Johnson, Susan Mathison-Young, Dena Moody, Amy Sjoblad, and Tracy Wallin, and Superintendent of Schools Chris Lindholm.
Moved by Mathison-Young, seconded by C. Johnson to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried by a 7-0 vote.
Moved by Moody, seconded by C. Johnson to accept the resignation of Chris Lindholm, superintendent of schools, effective June 30, 2021. Motion carried by a 7-0 vote.
Moved by C. Johnson, seconded by Moody to post for the position of interim superintendent of Pequot Lakes Public Schools for the 2021-2022 school year, with an application deadline for interested candidates of June 4, 2021, at noon, and interviews to be conducted at a school board meeting open to the public prior to June 30, 2021. Motion carried by a 7-0 vote.
Moved by C. Johnson, seconded by Sjoblad that in the process for hiring the interim superintendent, the board chair will bring forward candidates before June 30 for an interview in a public meeting. Motion carried by a 7-0 vote.
Moved by Mathison-Young, seconded by Wallin to adjourn. Motion carried by a 7-0 vote. The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
