SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Board of Education was held in the Pine River-Backus High School Media Center at 1:10 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 for the purpose of discussing and approving items related to the Superintendent Search.
Members present: Katy Botz, Leslie Bouchonville, Wanda Carlson, Chris Cunningham, Dawn Rubner, David Sheley and Ryan Trumble. Barb Dorn, a member of Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) Executive Search Committee, was present via interactive technology.
Motion by Carlson, second by Botz, to approve an Executive Search Services Agreement with MSBA. All voted aye and the motion carried.
Discussion: Barb Dorn led discussion on topics related to the Search including timeline, hiring criteria, staff and community listening sessions, salary and benefit package and vacancy brochure. MSBA will update the documents with adjustments as discussed by the Board. The Board will have until 12:00 p.m. on March 24, 2020 to make any adjustments to the updated documents.
Motion by Carlson, second by Bouchonville, to approve the Superintendent Search timeline pending adjustments, as discussed. All voted aye and the motion carried.
Motion by Sheley, second by Trumble, to approve the hiring criteria for the Superintendent Search. All voted aye and the motion carried.
Motion by Botz, second by Carlson, to approve the vacancy brochure pending adjustments, as discussed. All voted aye and the motion carried.
Chair Cunningham adjourned the meeting at 2:14 p.m.
