Regular meeting of County Board – 9:00 AM – all members present.
Franzen/Barrows - to approve minutes of 07/14/20 regular County Board meeting. Motion Passed [Unanimous]
Franzen/Brekken - to approve agenda of 07/28/20 regular County Board meeting. Motion Passed [Unanimous]
Franzen/Houge - to approve consent agenda. Motion Passed [Unanimous]
Don Miller from Cuyuna Conservation Club addressed Board requesting potential lease for public shooting range on tax forfeited land. No action was taken.
County Sheriff updated Board on armed robbery at Deerwood Bank in Garrison on 7/24. Suspect was arrested on 7/27 & is currently being held in Crow Wing County Jail. He also reminded Board of today's tour of newly remodeled Sheriff's Office.
County Administrator reported on behalf of Senior Management Team.
Barrows/Franzen - to authorize Aitkin County to use Crow Wing County Judicial Center for purpose of holding Jury Trials. Motion Passed [Unanimous]
County Attorney informed Board that, except for technology piece, Courtroom 1 has been remodeled to be COVID-19 felony jury trial courtroom.
Franzen/Barrows - to authorize use of Crow Wing County’s CARES Act allocation as on file. Motion Passed [4 to 1], Houge nay.
Chair Koering appointed himself & Commissioner Barrows to CARES Act Grant Application Review Committee for Small Businesses & Commissioners Franzen & Brekken to CARES Act Grant Application Review Committee for Nonprofit Organizations.
County Engineer updated Board on this year’s sealcoating bid awarded to Astech.
Barrows/Franzen - to adjourn at 9:48 AM. Motion Passed [Unanimous]
Board toured newly remodeled County Sheriff’s Office.
