John Edward Bartkowitz, age 72, of Pine River, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd. He was born on October 9, 1941, in Sobieski, MN, to Peter and Martha Bartkowitz. On August 20, 1962, he married Janyce Witt of Browerville, MN.
John is survived by his wife, Janyce; children: John Bartkowitz, Jr. (Emily Stall), Linda Campbell (Jerry), Laurie Miller (Mike), Rick Bartkowitz (Tracey); grandchildren: Kayla and Kerry Bartkowitz, Waylon and Taylor Campbell, Tory and Sam Miller; sisters: Francis Lashinski, Agnes Golombieski, Betty Burton (Dave), Helen Slatery (Jim); and brother, Anthony Bartkowitz (Maxine).
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Thursday, July 24, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River. Burial will follow at Norwood Cemetery, rural Pine River. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
