While the Brainerd Public Library is not hosting in-person events, Brown Bag Lunch author visits will be presented as live events on the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library Facebook page.
From noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, local author Frank Weber will discuss his latest crime novel, “Lying Close.” In the novel, a hunting accident, a rural home break in and the disappearance of a teen all occur in a 30-mile stretch of rural Minnesota. Investigator Jon Frederick realizes they are all symptoms of a larger problem. “Lying Close” is a thrilling mystery with a forbidden love affair.
Weber is a forensic psychologist specializing in homicide, sexual assault and domestic abuse cases. He uses his unique understanding of how predators think, knowledge of victim trauma and expert testimony in writing his true crime thrillers. He has profiled cold case homicides and narrated an investigative show on Oxygen.
His award-winning books include "Murder Book" (2017), "The I-94 Murders" (2018), "Last Call" (2019) and "Lying Close" (2020).
This presentation is sponsored by the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library through their volunteer and fundraising efforts.
